He also has a strong background in working closely with major retailers and their suppliers within the UK and the US markets. He was a founder, a director, and the CTO (Chief Technology Officer) of Numbercraft Limited. The company, which was acquired by Lawson Software in 2003, provided services and software to retailers and their suppliers in order to give them actionable insights from customer and transaction data.

"I am delighted to be working with emnos. The company has a wealth of opportunities to help clients use insights from their databases more effectively. There are some real challenges inherent in delivering business value from data, and I look forward to developing ideas that will inform both strategic and operational decision making for our clients," comments Peter Grindrod.
"The most important asset any business has is its customer base. The need to understand how individuals' behaviour can drive value, and how value can be created from customer insight has never been greater – especially in the retail and FMCG industries. That is where competition is fierce and there is massive innovation in terms of products, purchasing behaviour, customer experience and customer expectation. I am strongly of the view that smart analytics can and will make a huge impact on revenues for those companies that can successfully analyse their data and build, and share, insight about their customers and their growth opportunities."
Steve Gray, CEO of emnos GmbH, adds: “We are delighted that Peter has joined emnos. Peter is a giant within the field of mathematics who has successfully combined both thought leadership and commercial leadership in academia and industry. His knowledge and experience will help emnos to accelerate value creation on behalf of our clients leveraging the unique insights that are contained within large analytical databases."
